A pond has been in this location for decades but it was re dug and lined with a bentonite clay membrane, and a wetland was created to it’s left in 2009. The pond, which is fringed by yellow irises, contains a variety of aquatic plants and creatures, including fresh water mussels.

The pond is fed by a narrow stream from one of the higher points nearer to the eastern boundary of the Reserve.
